BODIES...The Exhibition Moves to Luxor Hotel and Casino
Las Vegas - Premier Exhibitions, Inc. announced today that BODIES…The Exhibition has officially opened its doors at Luxor Hotel and Casino. One of the most fascinating and educational experiences in Las Vegas, the Exhibition is the first to debut in Premier Exhibition’s new specially designed exhibition center at Luxor.
“As a company we are excited to host BODIES…The Exhibition at Luxor,” states Arnie Geller, President and CEO of Premier Exhibitions, Inc. “Nearly a million people have seen this unique and groundbreaking Exhibition during the two-year tenure at its previous Las Vegas location and we look forward to continuing our commitment to visitors and residents in one of the greatest entertainment markets in the world. The transition of BODIES to Luxor this month is a first step to our long awaited and exciting partnership.”
Described as a “life-changing experience,” BODIES…The Exhibition showcases more than 260 full body, organ and partial body specimens. These real human bodies have been meticulously dissected, preserved through an innovative process and respectfully presented, giving visitors the opportunity to view the beauty and complexity of their own organs and systems.
Felix Rappaport, President and COO of Luxor, said, “We are delighted to welcome BODIES. . .The Exhibition to Luxor. We are committed to offering a dynamic array of amenities for our guests, and this exhibit is a wonderful addition.”
In addition to providing an up-close look inside our skeletal, muscular, respiratory and circulatory systems, the Exhibition encourages healthy lifestyle choices. Authentic human specimens illustrate the damage caused to organs by smoking, over-eating and lack of exercise. A healthy lung is featured next to a black lung ravaged by smoking in a vivid comparison more powerful than any textbook image.
The human body specimens in BODIES…The Exhibition are preserved through a revolutionary technique called polymer preservation. In this process, human tissue is permanently preserved using liquid silicone rubber that is treated and hardened. The end result is a rubberized specimen, preserved to the deepest cellular level, showcasing the complexity of the body’s many bones, muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and organs. The full-body specimens can take over a year to prepare and after undergoing the polymer preservation process, they become impervious to decomposition.
After a wonderful run at Tropicana Resort & Casino, the exhibition closed on July 20 to make way for its transition to Luxor.
Tickets to BODIES…The Exhibition are available at the Luxor Box Office or by visiting www.bodiestickets.com. Ticket prices are $31 for adults, $29 for seniors, $23 for children 14 years of age and younger, and $28 for Nevada residents and Luxor hotel guests. The Exhibition is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with last admission at 9:00 p.m. It is recommended that children 12 years of age and younger are accompanied by a teacher or parent as an adult guide.
